A warm welcome to the Seniors in Action, where vibrant, active, and engaged seniors like you come together to embrace life’s adventures!
Seniors in Action is a dynamic, self-funded group that thrives on the spirit of community and togetherness. Our mission is to promote well-being, foster friendships, and encourage active living among seniors. With an annual fee of just $25, your membership supports various activities and events throughout the year, including facility rentals and recreational programs. Our primary source of revenue is our monthly Casino Fundraising Trip to the dazzling Niagara Fallsview Casino.
Our dedicated team of Officers and Directors are all volunteers who are passionate about creating a welcoming and enriching experience for every member. Here’s a glimpse of the exciting activities we have for you.
The Collective Hub
Seniors in Action is a self-funded group that thrives on community and togetherness. Our annual membership fee of just $25.00 supports facility rentals, activities and events all year long — with our monthly Casino Fundraising Trip to the Niagara Fallsview Casino as our main source of revenue. Our Officers and Directors are all volunteers.
Learning
Stimulate your mind and connect with fellow book lovers. Each month we select a captivating read for discussion, providing an opportunity to share insights, exchange perspectives and explore the vast world of literature in a friendly, social environment.
Fitness
Join us for an exhilarating hour of Zumba tailored specifically for seniors. Led by a certified instructor, this class combines Latin and international music with easy-to-follow dance moves designed to improve cardiovascular fitness, balance and coordination.
Travel
Experience the thrill of exploration and camaraderie on our monthly bus trip to Niagara Fallsview Casino. Enjoy complimentary bottled water and snacks, participate in the 50/50 draw and try your luck in our exciting raffles.
Social
Spread joy and make a difference in the lives of others through our community engagement initiatives. Join us as we volunteer for heartwarming performances at local seniors' homes — entertaining musical performances and engaging activities that bring smiles to residents' faces.

Celebrate the joy of life and the diversity of our members as we come together to honour members celebrating birthdays in the same month and indulge in culinary delights from around the world. Share stories and forge lasting friendships in a spirit of inclusivity and celebration.
Arts
Our musical group dedicated to spreading joy through song, performance and community service. Members attend regular practices with vocalists and musicians to build timing, harmony and group synchronization — and perform monthly at local retirement homes and invited events. Practice makes perfect: your presence and preparation help us deliver meaningful performances to those we serve.
Fitness
Start your day with a breath of fresh air and scenic views as you join fellow members for a leisurely morning walk along the picturesque Port Union Waterfront. Stay active while enjoying the beauty of nature and engaging in lively conversations with friends.

Join the SIA Wahines and share the Spirit of Aloha! Hula sharpens the mind, improves balance, flexibility and coordination, and lifts the spirit through graceful, expressive movement. Our flexible and understanding instructor makes sure seniors of all abilities can take part comfortably.

Participate in our exciting annual projects where members come together to address community needs, utilize available funds and resources, and make a meaningful impact in the community we share.
Arts
Immerse yourself in the enchanting art of Hawaiian dancing. Learn the graceful movements and rich storytelling of hula while engaging your mind, enhancing coordination and giving your heart a gentle workout. Experience the joy of cultural expression and the health benefits of this beautiful art form.

First Sunday of every month. $45 per person with a $35 player incentive returned at the casino, plus 50/50 draws and snacks on board.

Membership is $25 a year and the Niagara casino trip is $45 per seat. Choose how you’d like to pay — and if you’d like to give a little extra, add a voluntary donation of any amount.
